BEFORE, SESSION GUIDE AND AFTER

How many songs can you record? As many as you like — just let me know in advance how many songs you're planning to record, since this affects how much time we'll need. Not sure? Send a message and we'll figure out the right amount of time together.

    ‍ ‍

I want to record a podcast, audiobook, video, or short film — can you do that? Yes. I can record you, and I can travel to do it wherever you are. I also produce sound design and effects for podcasts, audiobooks, videos, and short films. Already have your audio recorded and just need it edited or produced? I can do that too.

    ‍ ‍

How long does mixing take? It depends on the project — number of tracks, how much editing and sound design is needed, and so on. I'll spend the time needed until you're happy with the result, with one or two revisions included depending on your package. The clearer your reference and vision going in, the smoother (and often faster) the process.

    ‍ ‍

When do you mix my music? After recording, tracks need to be cleaned up before mixing begins — how long this takes depends on how the session went. If you're not able to be present in person, or you're based outside Paris, I send mixes online for your approval, so you're always part of the process.

    ‍ ‍

What is mastering, exactly? Think of mixing as cooking a meal, and mastering as plating it before serving. Mastering is the final step: correcting overall volume, balancing highs and lows, shaping the stereo image, and making sure everything sounds consistent. It happens only once you're 100% happy with the mix.

    ‍ ‍

I can't come to a studio — can you still record me? Yes. I don't work out of a single fixed studio — I record on location, using professional portable gear, matched to a space with good acoustic treatment. If you'd like to record in your own rehearsal space or another location, just let me know in advance so we can plan around the room's acoustics.

    ‍ ‍

We just want our rehearsal recorded live — can you do that? Absolutely — that's exactly what my recording packages are for. If what you need doesn't quite fit a standard package, get in touch and we'll figure something out.

    ‍ ‍

Can we reschedule last-minute? Booking a session reserves that time exclusively for you. Cancellations are accepted up to 5 days in advance (the deposit is non-refundable). Last-minute reschedules outside that window generally aren't possible — but reach out and we'll see what can be done.

    ‍ ‍

I just need mixing or mastering for something recorded elsewhere — can you help? Yes, from anywhere in the world. See [Our Productions] for exactly how to prepare and send your files.

    ‍ ‍

Can you send us the raw recording right after the session, to share online? I completely understand the excitement, but I'd ask you to hold off. What you'll have right after the session is an unedited, unmixed, unmastered file — it doesn't represent the finished product, and sharing it early can give the wrong impression of the final quality. Good things take a little time — thanks for bearing with the process.

    ‍ ‍

Can I tweak the final mastered file myself after you deliver it? I'd really recommend against it. Once a track is mastered, any further changes — adding effects, re-editing, adjusting levels — will affect the final sound you worked and paid for. If you want additional sound effects at the start, in between, or at the end of a track, just ask — it's part of the production process and doesn't cost extra. Let's get it right together the first time.

    ‍ ‍

Before your session — a few tips

    ‍ ‍

    • Rehearse your songs and make sure everyone knows their parts.

    • Print your lyrics, scores, or text in advance — there's no printer on hand, and it saves valuable session time.

    • Decide on vocals, string arrangements, or percussion ahead of time. Need extra musicians or vocalists? I can help arrange that.

    • Come to record what you planned to record. It's not the moment to test out a brand-new idea on the spot — save that for next time, and enjoy the songs you came in for.

    • Arrive on time with your equipment checked and ready: fresh batteries in pedals, spare strings, spare sticks — test your gear the day before.

    • Playing to a click track is highly recommended — it keeps tempo consistent and makes overdubbing and editing much more accurate.

    • After recording, I edit your tracks and send them for your approval, then move into mixing — applying effects, setting levels, and shaping the stereo image. You'll receive the final mastered track with 1–2 revisions, depending on your package.

    • Smoking, alcohol, and drugs are not permitted during recording, mixing, or mastering sessions — this is a professional service, and I want to deliver work that reflects that.

    • Most importantly: relax and enjoy the process. Recording your music is a big moment, and I'm here to guide, support, and make sure you leave with something you're proud of.
